Dear Para dance sport community,

Please find here more information about the Powerchair demonstration event,during Amstelveen 2024 World Para Dance International competition.

The LOC, with the support of the WPDS, will host a demonstration event dedicated to Powerchair athletes. This event will not be considered an official event for the purposes of World Para Dance Sport’s Rules & Regulations, and the results will not be recognised for the international rankings or any other purpose under those rules.

To take part in this event, new athletes will first be required to register in SDMS (the IPC registration system) and provide their medical information and supportive documents. New athletes must fulfil all the eligibility criteria in the World Para Dance Sport Rules & Regulations and be classified in Class 1.

The medical form can be found here. Existing athletes already classified in Class 1 and actively using a powerchair are also welcome to join this event.

The Judging system will be the same used for the conventional events. The event will be mixed gender and it will have the same format of single conventional.
